Phenomenology 105 Gettysburg PA March 2013

Phenomenology is a yearly paranormal convention which is held in Gettysburg, PA. Paranormal groups and speakers from all around the country attend this event each year. Its a great opportunity to network with others in the field. The lectures are amazing, and often quite thought provoking. One of the highlights of this years event included a lecture by Josh Gates as well as the cast from Haunted Collector. This year we chose to investigate the Tillie Pierce House with Jeff Belanger and Robert Murch.

The Tillie Pierce house is the former home of Tillie Pierce. Tillie was only 15 years old when the Battle of Gettysburg was fought, but her life would be touched by this battle for the remainder of her days.
During the battle, Tillie helped to bring food and water to the soldiers, as did many other young women in the town. She even went on to assist the surgeons and nurses who cared for the wounded both during and after the horrendous battle.
Tillie is best known for the book she penned about her experiences during that time. "At Gettysburg, Or What A Girl Saw And Heard Of The Battle"

While we do not have any hard evidence to put forward, we had a very interesting experience with Robert Murch and Brandon Hodge who were leading Ouija Board sessions in the main parlor. You did hear me correctly- I said Ouija Board! Now, this is not something we normally do or promote the use of, but there has been much debate as to what the difference is between the Ouija Board and an Ovilus or PSB7. The more we thought about it, the more we realized there was not much difference at all. As usual, everything comes down to the respectfulness and intent of the user. We decided who better to experiment with then the worlds foremost expert and historian!
We did encounter quite a bit of interaction, which seemed to vary based on the group involved at any given time. The planchette even seemed to rise off the board on more then one occasion.
The remainder of our time at the Inn was spent investigating the various guest rooms and attic area of the Inn.
Did I neglect to mention Jeff Belanger? Couldn't resist just spending some time hanging with him over the course of the evening. He is such an amazing, talented guy. One of the nicest people we've ever met!
His knowledge of and enthusiasm for the paranormal is contagious.
